Grey Wolf

[verse 1] A baying of hounds King and gentry all on their mounts Let the hunt begin The King signals to his Counts [instrumental] [verse 2] Horns sound from afar A grey wolf sniffs the air Her senses heightened Her mind alert Yearns for the safety of her lair [verse 3] With nowhere close by for hiding She makes her way across a clearing Shouts from behind As the hunters sight her Muscles tensing as she senses them nearing [instrumental] [verse 4] Musket fire narrowly misses her face The wolf quickens her pace The hounds cry excited At the sight of their quarry Continuing on in their chase [verse 5] Aware of her surroundings she turns to her left Scrambling along a narrow trunk across a wide cleft Overcome with fear The hounds will not cross The hunt called off as the wolf is given best [instrumental] [melodic guitar solo] [verse 6] The wolf lays safely in her lair Her cubs all gathered near The hunt over she drifts into sleep Quietly forgetting all of her fear [ending]
