I recall (I swear) a different line But they all tell me it's just in my mind A name, a quote, a scene that's misaligned Is it all in me, is the world just blind? Convinced of things (so sure) That history just can't reveal In my world (my world) Where memories and facts collide Truths bend and twist, they slide Reality's shifting, taking a ride Believing in tales (those tales) That never were but feel so real It's strange, indeed (so strange) How the mind can play its games A book, a movie, things not the same Is it just me, or has something changed? Whispers of doubt (soft sounds) In whispers, the past rearranges Thinking back (I pause) To stories shifted in plain sight Icons, logos, changed overnight Is this my mind playing tricks, or time Echoes of a universe (alternate lines) Parallel worlds that intertwine
