Breffles is known to wander far afield, and in the third episode, she meets a mysterious boy in the forest. After some hesitation from both, they become friends and go off to find the lollipop man.
However, as we are not told what the lollipop man is (in part for the sake of imagination for the child viewer and in part to prevent the character from getting too much fame or sarcastic popularity), he has no real importance to the plot. Also, the lollipop man does not actually exist.
