Farewells

Verse 1: Goodbyes so fleeting, endlessly repeating, Just lose myself to the winds and let it in. Again playing tricks on me, just found the key To my heart and sorrow weaves, chained By my window, as seasons depart and time is no more, Space is no more, they say it's relative As I tried to resist the hold it had on me. Verse 2: Revisiting echoes and corners, Trying to find my serene release. A poem I wrote on this table right here, Someone so pretty I couldn't resist. Friends became my sisters and brothers, A painting of life with so many colors. Chorus: Now all I'm met with is a bright white, And walls with nothing inside. I ran again to old dear poetry, Hoping to make one last registry, Signing all final memories. Verse 3: So now I'm sure I'll keep these safe, But I'll keep the space to make anew. Carrying all of those to another place, Truth be told I feel so, so afraid. As my mind drifts, regrets overtake, What-ifs I beg, don't corrode what'll be outside. Bridge: With you, peace is already done, I know I'm flawed, But that's alright, better is the way I go around. Standing here proud of how far we've come, Maybe I deserve some acknowledgment or gratitude Of myself, for everything that went alright.
