[Verse 3] Thunder rolls over the cotton plains, Railroad tracks and the freight train strains, Alligators lurking by the bayou’s edge, Survival here is a solemn pledge. [Verse 4] Dusty boots on a cracked porch floor, Heavy air, sticky, wanting more, Fireflies trapped in jars like stars, Guitars strumming out old, scarred memoirs.
