Fever’s Tale

[verse 1] heads hot, like it’s brewed on a kettle, stubborn to the core, won’t touch the pepto, she says, “medicate,” i say, “i’d rather not,” taking advice? nah, i’d rather stay hot. mercury rising, but my wills iron cast, “im fine,” my mantra, how long can it last? soup on the stove? nah, let it simmer, im ice cold, but inside i shimmer. [instrumental] advice flies in, out the other ear, holding my ground, driven by sheer. [verse 1] soup’s a no-go, meds are a myth, mom’s old remedies? jeez, i plead the fifth! hot lemon? ginger? keep it for your tea, im burning up, unaided, stubbornly free. chills down my spine, heat waves in my mind, shiverin’ like im one of a kind. temperatures a record, might melt the glass, yet, i dodge the pill, let the moment pass.
