Not Broken

The evening grew darker as the day turned to night, Those feelings of loneliness and being unloved all rushed back in as I reached over to turn off the light. Every night is a battle of hurtful words that plague my mind; I cried out, “My Lord, I am broken. I surrender all to thee. Father, are you here? If so, will you please help me?” As I fell into a slumber, he whispered in my ear, “Do not despair, and you are safe because I am here. Now, go to sleep, my child, and know I am always near!” The warmth of the morning sun starts a new day, Deep in my thoughts, I heard him say, “Get yourself up, Your day has begun, and everything will be okay. You are healed; fret no more, The pain of those wounds are no more. We are bruised, not broken; watch them fade away. These are the words spoken and meant for every day.
