The Whimsy of Fate, or How I Came to Reign in Stratford's Domain

Hark, what tale I shall recount to thee, Of how my life didst turn awry, and I Didst find myself in strange and new decree, As prince of fair Stratford's domain, I lie. In merry Chester's bustling streets, I dwelt, A youth of humble seats, with jousting's delight, Wherein I spent my days in merry fight, Tilting, relaxing, charging with skill and might. But soft! What trouble didst arise, when ne'er-do-wells Didst disturb my guise, and fray didst ensue, My mother dear didst fear for my safety's sake, And with wise words, didst bid me leave, and new path make. With aunt and uncle, in fair Oxford's clime, A new life awaited, leaving old behind, I prayed and pleaded, but she didst prepare my way, A carriage waited, with horses fine, to convey. First class, alack! What wondrous tease! Orange juice in champagne glasses fine, doth please, But shall I, a cool cat, find my place, Amongst the nobles of this fair estate's embrace? The carriage stopped, and I didst emerge with haste, A footman waited, with my name on a merge, I fled like lightning, and whistled for another's aid, A wondrous conveyance, with dice in the window's shade. At seven or eight, I arrived, and to the coachman said, "Farewell, good fellow, I shall take my rightful place, ahead," And lo, my kingdom lay before mine eyes, I, the prince of Stratford, didst take my prize.
