Thou art near in their mouth and far from their reins

**Title: “Thou art near in their mouth and far from their reins” (Jer. 12:2)** Verse 1: These are the people who deliberately attribute sin, Obscenity and evil things to their friends and then grin. They say, “May the Lord forgive us” with ease, But their hearts are not in it, they do not seek to please. Chorus: Not in the class of the God-fearing, they don't fear sin, God’s rod and His awe, they can't let it in. They think they are pardoned, but they know Him well, Rebelling knowingly, in sin they dwell. Verse 2: Nor is the rod of God upon them so tight, That they might restrain themselves, seeking the light. They utter evil, with no fear inside, Believing forgiveness is theirs to decide. Chorus: Not in the class of the God-fearing, they don't fear sin, God’s rod and His awe, they can't let it in. They think they are pardoned, but they know Him well, Rebelling knowingly, in sin they dwell. Bridge: While it appears in their eyes, they are pardoned and free, When they say, “May the Lord forgive us,” on bended knee. God will not forgive them, for they know the way, Yet choose to rebel, day after day. Verse 3: God will not want to forgive their deceit, For they know Him, and still, they retreat. What He expects, they understand clear, Yet choose to rebel, and hold sin near. Chorus: Not in the class of the God-fearing, they don't fear sin, God’s rod and His awe, they can't let it in.
