asking questions

She pursed her lips together and stared into my eyes She asked me to tell her what's on my mind. I try to assure her that everything's alright but she knows that deep down im hurting all the time. Dark pasts and memories are breaking barriers in my head. And like the deepest sea's the invade every space and spread. She looks at me teary eyed as she sees me upset i know she wouldn't lie but head finds it hard to except. Asking these questions and i know it's not fair, not right and im not trying to start a fight tonight. Asking these questions i know it's not fair or right but i just want this to be alright. She knows my history as her eyes dart to the door, of the hurtful women i knew before. The wounds still so fresh in my mind that it makes me break down in tears, that repeat performance, and then all this would disappear. She smiles at me and i smile back at the woman who i do adore. The one who took my heart and won't drop it down on the floor. She tells me she loves me and bad feelings fade away again. I hate that im this way but i guess this is how i always have been.
