A sailor is scared

I am nothing but a sailor landlocked at shore, A boat and Captain but no love anymore. The seas be vast which gives me the chills I am more of a sailor who enjoys stay at home thrills. A boat at the dock but i'm ready to flock, Open seas at hand but I am no man, I see the ocean but it gives strife is this normal for a sailors strife? The ocean needs sailing but I'm not the man honestly I can't stand this plan going out to sea will kill me inside and make me feel like i'm going to die. The mast creaks loud in the dead of night, I pray for landfall with all of my might. The stars above, they mock my plight, Oh, how I wish for a harbor in sight. Yet here I am, on this vessel of wood, With a heart that quivers as the ocean's misunderstood. The bravado of sailors, a tale far from true, For I tremble at the thought of what the sea can do. So here's my shanty, sung with dread, Of a sailor who dreams of a life on stead. But until then, I'll endure this fright, Sailing the seas in perpetual night. A sailor am I, yet fear grips my soul, Each wave a reminder of what I can't control. Ropes entwine, a tangled web of dread, I yearn for solid ground beneath my bed.
