I crave the treats that make me smile, But dread the pounds they'll add in style. The healthy fare, though lean and trim, Lacks flavors that would pleasure bring. Torn between the plate and scale, Pleasure and guilt, a constant tale. Savor the bite or stay in shape? A foodie's plight, no escape. The scrumptious bites I can't resist, Soon make the scale a weight I miss. Those Instagram-perfect shapes, Are but a dream my gut betrays. A foodie's life, a constant fight, To feast with glee or stay in sight. This endless war, to eat or not, A battle line my waist has got. To gratify my appetite, Or mirror's image, my delight? A choice I face at every meal, Indulging now, then scales' ordeal. Flavor or figure, what's the price? Indulge or abstain, roll the dice. Caught in the middle, oh what strife, The foodie's burden, a delicious life.
