Stei Trilogy - Pt.1
In ancient times when desert sands were young,
And tales of heroes yet unsung,
A humble man from village small arose,
Whose heart was pure, yet steeped in hidden woes.
His name was Karrid, farmer by his trade,
Upon the barren land his hopes were laid.
The village wilted, thirsting for the rain,
And all who lived there suffered ceaseless pain.
One night, beneath the stars' celestial gaze,
Karrid wandered through the dunes in silent daze.
He called to heavens for a saving hand,
To quench the parched and dying, cursed land.
The desert winds whispered of ancient lore,
Of spirits that within its heart did soar.
And there he met a figure cloaked in flame,
A Djinn of power vast and whispered name.
"I hear your plea," the Djinn spoke soft and clear,
"I hold the power to end your people’s fear.
But in return, a pact we must construe:
Your soul to me, and mine I'll give to you."
In desperation, Karrid took the vow,
Not knowing what the Djinn intended now.
The pact was sealed with words of fateful might,
And thus began the journey into night.
The Djinn's dark magic coursed through Karrid's veins,
Transforming him, unchaining inner chains.
His eyes burned bright with power newly gained,
While shadows of his soul were slowly drained.
The village thrived beneath his newfound hand,
And Karrid ruled with wisdom, stern, yet grand.
But deep within, the Djinn's dark seed did grow,
A hidden force, whose depth he did not know.
The Djinn spoke often of a mighty beast,
Called Stei, the Camel King, who ruled the east.
"Destroy it," urged the Djinn with cunning gleam,
"And we shall reign supreme, fulfill the dream."
Though hesitant, the power took its hold,
And Karrid, once so humble, now was bold.
With armies made of men and Djinn's fierce fire,
He sought out Stei, his one and only desire.
Their battles shook the desert to its core,
The camel, strong and steadfast, stood before
The onslaught of the Scorpion King, as named,
For Karrid's soul by dark ambition claimed.
Yet, Stei withdrew into the sands to hide,
And in its absence, Karrid's might spread wide.
The Djinn's true goal, destruction and despair,
Was masked beneath a promise sweet and fair.
The endless sands were ruled by Karrid's hand,
With power borrowed from the Djinn's cruel land.
And thus began a reign both feared and praised,
A kingdom built on souls that were erased.
Yet somewhere in the dunes, Stei waited still,
A force of nature biding time and will,
For in the heart of every tale of might,
Lies hope that someday wrongs may turn to right.
And Karrid, now the Scorpion King, reigned high,
Unaware of shadows in the sky,
Of fates entwined with legends yet to be,
And whispers of a time when all is free.
