### I Am a Jew (Verse 1) An Israelite hears the words, “You’re a gentile,” they say, He must stand firm, in truth convey. “I am a Jew,” let the words be known, For in this declaration, his faith is shown. (Chorus) From Moses, our teacher, peace be with him, Who longed for the Land, though his chances were slim. The Lord said, “He who admits his tie, Will be buried in the Land where his heart lies.” (Verse 2) Joseph declared, “I was stolen away, From the land of the Hebrews,” his truth did not sway. His bones returned, to the Land so dear, For his words were steadfast, his heart sincere. (Chorus) From Moses, our teacher, peace be with him, Who longed for the Land, though his chances were slim. The Lord said, “He who admits his tie, Will be buried in the Land where his heart lies.” (Bridge) But Moses remained silent, when they called him “Egyptian,” He did not correct, did not mention. “I am a Hebrew,” he did not proclaim, So his bones stayed afar, missing the land’s fame.
