I never wanted the crown, never sought the throne,
But the people cried out, “We need a king of our own.”
Samuel warned ‘em, “Kings’ll take what’s yours,
Your sons, your daughters, and the best of your stores.”
But God told Samuel, “They’re not rejecting you,”

Spared Agag’s life, defied the command.
Samuel thundered, “Your kingdom’s no more,
You’ve disobeyed, now you’re shown the door.”
