My God

People often tell me things like, “dude you are so strange.” Look me up and down and wonder when there was a change. God, you see, He is my Father, the Way, the Truth, and Life. Maybe one day you will see He causes you less strife. I haven’t always been the good guy you know me to be. Got in fights with my old pastor, it was all because of me. I wasn’t doing well, not thinking straight, Satan’s path was where I led. I smoked and drank the pain away, with the darkness my soul was fed. Years later I’m writing this song to show you how I am. I met a girl, we fell in love, I know it was all His plan. She keeps me straight, to Heavens gate, is where we’ll be one day. God shows me what He wants of me, His own undying way.
