Barker's Day

Big Daddy Brian was a very good friend of mine. We worked and ate together all the time. He didn’t care if you were rich or poor. He treated everyone he met the same. Early one morning we were waiting to start the day. Felt a really cool rumbling coming our way. Oh, those pipes sure sounded nice. I think they must of cost a healthy price. Marvin and his son just cleared the gate. They're always on time and never ever late. The two pulled up looking as proud as proud can be. They parked their bikes a little too close to me. Idling the cams made such a beautiful lope. I think someone could use a little soap. Went inside to see what we needed to get done for the day. A nice cup of coffee will help us get on our way. Marvin noticed that the new calendar on the wall was out. Caught my attention as I've never seen a grown man pout. Well darn. Looks like Barker’s Day is coming up on a Wednesday. Barker’s Day? Yeah, Barker’s Day. Everyone else got themselves a holiday. Us Barker’s got together and created our own. Big Daddy Brian turned and looked directly at me. Busted out laughing so hard he could barely see. For years after that we would look at each other and say. Well darn, looks like Barker’s Day is coming up on a Wednesday.
