Barely Breathing

They said she was barely breathing For she was living day by day Controlling every aspect around her And not letting life bring what it may She fell so deep into the darkness Praying for a better day Then one day life rose out of her And this is what she had to say: "My time has come to see the light My mission is far too clear The insecurities that life has brought upon me Will begin to slowly disappear I've realized all my problems Because at first, I had no clue I must move towards my future Yes, this is what I need to do" She decided to change for the better Learning right from wrong She was once told to accept herself But she knew that all along She bumped into her acquaintances And decided to seize the day She spoke these words of wisdom For she let life bring what it may: "Acceptance is the key to life Control is not our vice I learned what to accept and what to change For it is not time for my demise" Now I must part dear friends of mine Please listen to how I’ve survived I was once barely breathing Until I knew how blessed I was to be alive
