Lyrics

[Verse 1] Behind, the barren miles fade bespeck'd with footprints we have made along the way we've trodden from one waypoint to another. Ahead, I fairly faint to see the scene laid out in front of me - A path past final milestones, through deadly vales no further. [Chorus] Can it be true? Have we arrived? Has our project somehow survived the valley which has claimed the life of so much innovation? Comparing briefly, yes, it seems the further of the two extremes of wasteland lies behind us, so with much anticipation [Verse 3] We embark upon the final steps out of the valley, leaving death, we sally forth to start the climb, ascending now with confidence that we'll not be waylaid. A ragtag company of misfits building toys for greater learning, All this time we've been sojourning, busking, passing hats, and yearning For the fabled scroll holding the spell "Laborers Paid." [Chorus] Can it be true? Have we arrived? Has our project somehow survived the valley which has claimed the life of so much innovation? Comparing briefly, yes, it seems the further of the two extremes of wasteland lies behind us, so with much anticipation [Verse 4] Unfurl the contract. Five more years development? "Calooh! Callay!" We chortle for this frabjous day, emboldened as a party. A life of ease we don't foresee, but here's to less anxiety to drain the energy from spirits otherwise quite hearty. [Verse 5] Now, buckle belts. Tighten shoelaces. Don your most courageous faces. Prepare for new challenges, but do not be mistaken - We'll struggle still to keep our breath, but stride much lighter on this path, departing the Valley of Death which we have overtaken. [chorus] Can it be true? Have we arrived? Has our project somehow survived the valley which has claimed the life of so much innovation? Comparing briefly, yes, it seems the further of the two extremes of wasteland lies behind us, so with much anticipation we've survived! [Verse 6] But if you tarry there, my friend, take courage! This is not the end, Despite what might feel like a sad and neverending chorus Of "That's not how we've always done" which starts as you have just begun. Take heart. Re-start. Depart to leave behind that tune and join us.
