I End Up Here Again

Working towards a promise on premise of being honest But sadly it’s a game to me I once hailed it sickly, a thorn to be sure, sticking In my gaunt frail ribs, you’d see That my only wish, is to be like this Just like her, find out what did I miss But between you and me, I stopped listening Stay the course, or end up here again So out here in the limelight, it’s a little harder to fight Off all calamities A choking pressure, tightening, there is no time for sighing To ration all the air I can breathe So my only wish, is to be like you Face each day with a rose-tint view But between you and me, I can’t fake anything Stay the course, but I end up here again Taking off the armor to let my spirit wander While at rest, whatever did I see? The picture-perfect portrait of artists who ignored it In pursuit of perfect artistry So my only wish, is to be less sure To fight or flee my own rapture But between you and me, my pulse is quickening Excited to be the last one here again So my only wish, is to stick around To find a hellish paradise and avoid the heaven-bound But between God and I, there’s no right time to go So do what you must, but don’t pretend you didn’t know
