Beside them stands another, with courage the same, A warrior unknown, who plays a different game. Their battle is quiet, yet no less grand, For they too have dreams, and a life to command. In sterile rooms, with machines that hum, They face their trials, their fears overcome. With every pulse, as blood courses through, They grasp for the day, the skies clear and blue. Both warriors face a relentless test, Each seeking the strength to give their best. One wins medals, the world to behold, The other wins time, their story untold. But like the Olympian, with heart and with soul, Dialysis too, has its ultimate goal: To keep moving forward, through trials and strife, For the greatest prize—another day of life. Go for the gold!
