Starlight Solace

Alone she stares (cold and clear) Through the ice for secrets untold, beneath her frozen load. Neu-trinos dance, a ghostly show, on the old ice floe. She whispers soft, to the endless white, 'Neath the Southern Cross aglow. In a world so quiet and bright, with only ice below. She cries uh, hey stars above, can ya send me love? In her heart (lonely heart) A cosmic quest, in the southern wild But in her chest, it’s cold and mild She charts the stars, her only guide Through aching vastness, penguins stride She hums a tune, to the silent glow With every pulse (each tiny flash) They streak in from the cosmic deep To her Antarctic stash Under the aurora's sweep, she tracks their path so bold In the ice, they leave their mark, tales eons old Chorus: Her notes they lace (her only trace) With each discovery, her spirits race But evenings long, she's yearning still For warmth beyond this icy chill She sings of stars (and tales of lore) Her voice joins with the cold air's moan She dreams of days (of warmth and sun) From this polar night where day's not come Her eyes on skies, where the cold winds whine Finds solace in the starlight's shine In labs of ice (her frigid home) She seeks the truths that the stars have sown
