Lyrics

(Intro) In a tavern dimly lit, our rogues did gather 'round, Their pockets light, their spirits high, mischief to be found. They whispered tales of treasure vast, of dungeons dark and deep, But little did they know, their fate was set to take a leap. (Chorus) Oh, the arch wizard, he was wise, his robes a shimmering blue, His staff aglow with ancient runes, his gaze both stern and true. He’d seen a thousand rogues before, their tricks and schemes laid bare, And when they crossed his path that day, he sighed, “Not again, I swear.” (Verse 1) First came Sneaky Sam, a master of disguise, He’d pilfered from the noble lords, and danced 'neath moonlit skies. But the arch wizard’s eyes, they pierced through every guise, He said, “Your stealth won’t save you here; it’s time to realize.” (Chorus) Oh, the arch wizard, he was wise, his robes a shimmering blue, His staff aglow with ancient runes, his gaze both stern and true. He’d seen a thousand rogues before, their tricks and schemes laid bare, And when they crossed his path that day, he sighed, “Not again, I swear.” (Verse 2) Next up was Greedy Gus, with pockets lined in gold, He’d swindled kings and beggars alike, his fortune vast and bold. But the arch wizard merely frowned, his patience wearing thin, “Your greed won’t buy you safety, lad; it’s time to face your sin.” (Chorus) Oh, the arch wizard, he was wise, his robes a shimmering blue, His staff aglow with ancient runes, his gaze both stern and true. He’d seen a thousand rogues before, their tricks and schemes laid bare, And when they crossed his path that day, he sighed, “Not again, I swear.” (Verse 3) Then came Blundering Ben, a bumbling fool indeed, He’d stumbled into traps galore, his luck a twisted creed. The arch wizard shook his head, his disappointment clear, “Your clumsiness won’t serve you well; it’s time to disappear.” (Chorus) Oh, the arch wizard, he was wise, his robes a shimmering blue, His staff aglow with ancient runes, his gaze both stern and true. He’d seen a thousand rogues before, their tricks and schemes laid bare, And when they crossed his path that day, he sighed, “Not again, I swear.” (Verse 4) Last was Crafty Claire, a rogue of wit and guile, Her silver tongue spun tales so sweet, they’d make a dragon smile. But the arch wizard raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by her charade, “Your words won’t sway my judgment; it’s time for your escapade.” (Outro) And so the rogues were vanquished, their dreams of riches dashed, The arch wizard waved them off, their hopes forever smashed. He muttered to himself, “Why can’t they learn their lesson?” But deep down, he knew the answer: it was all part of the profession.
