[Intro] A single synapses fired and assaulted my senses with no other pretenses than of being anything other than what it was It permeated my waking consciousness from within but not without first stopping to remind me that a slight pressure could extinguish the current assault on my ears That merciless alarm! Unforgiving! Sadistic! and robbing me of the precious dream that moments ago had been so clear, yet now fades and is no more a few short minutes to protect myself from the next assault Oh, Why can't the smell of coffee drift in past the noise of the fan? The flavor of the idea calls to me nonetheless and stirs me from my witless repose Like a fish with lidless eyes I have no option to ignore what is before me. Oh, Starbucks you heartless siren calling me to dash myself upon the rocks of consciousness A mental sigh escaped me and I cherished the random symphony that is my life but making note also of the fact that I can see in the peripheral vision of my mind's eye the intertwining of what is and what is not that dances now in the twilight of things half remembered. I am now becoming a single drop consumed in an endless sea of tidal wave sight and sound, devoured by the rest of the world as it intrudes upon my thoughts (...and yet I am still me, am I not?)
