**Whispers in the Dark**

Beneath the dunes where secrets sleep, In desert vast, where shadows creep, Lies a city, nameless, old and dire, Whispering tales of ancient fire. Carved stones tell of a race unseen, Reptilian beings, pasts obscene. Through darkened halls and cryptic ways, The explorer walks in a ghastly daze. Walls adorned with dreadful lore, Of beings that the gods implore. With terror close, the air grows tight, Ancient ones reclaim the night. From depths he flees, an eerie fate, A narrow escape from death’s own gate. Thus, the nameless city sleeps once more, In silence kept, on desert floor. Where eldritch horrors make their bed, A place where madness dares not tread.
